Well, it almost seems redundant to write this post, since I haven't posted in such a long time. Most of you have probably figured out by now that I'm just swamped with work, and I can't anticipate a time when that will end. So it's time to stop kidding myself and admit that I just can't keep up with the blog for the forseeable future. This will be my last post until things calm down - probably when I'm done with my dissertation.
Since I wrote last, I have completed two guest lectures and a public talk. I am now preparing for teaching a summer class, presenting a conference paper in August, and most importantly, writing that dissertation. I still knit almost every evening, because it gives me a chance to separate my personal from my work lives, to calm down and be in the moment, and to let go of all the thoughts racing around in my head related to work. I know many of you knit for similar reasons.
The site will remain up for a couple more weeks, and then ultimately I will take it down. Please be sure to bookmark any historic patterns you found especially interesting on this site. I wish all of you the very best, and thank you for sticking with me throughout the past year. I have met wonderful, talented, and generous people as a result of this blog, and I hope to continue those relationships in another forum. Have a great summer, and keep in touch!
